Changes Coming!

So, it's been a while since I posted anything. I've got a few reasons for that. The one that's actually relevant to you is that MTS is revamping our submission system. Delphy has been hard at work coding out the new system and I've been helping him get the user interface just perfect. (I'm an industrial designer, remember? That's something I can do in my sleep!) We are hoping that the new system will feel more positive to the users and be easier to comply with. It will be a much more standardized system and we are also working on updating the Creator Guidelines to reflect these changes. We want it to be easier for everyone to upload, and we want it to be a positive experience, but we also need everyone to follow the guidelines, so this should help everyone out. Most of my time has been spent working quite hard on getting my IDEA entry ready for a rather prestigious design competition. Its a baby stroller designed to work on public transit. The deadline was the 11th, and about a month from now they will announce the finalists. Then the finalists are invited to send more materials and they will have one week to do so. I decided I didn't want to be scrambling (from what we can tell, they only reject on failure to meet the core ideas) so we (my college roommate and bff) have been working on our further materials now to be ready. This is the video for now, I'll have much smoother one soon, hopefully with animated sketched mom and toddler!

As a side project, she and I are working on starting a Steampunk Etsy business. If you are impressed with my digital skills, you won't be disappointed to know that my real life making skills are right up there too. We are working on making our own storyline that will be on a blog and make the items our characters wear and use. She is a fantastic writer (I'm not bad either), and an amazing artist and designer. The two of us are unstoppable when we work together. Our skill sets compliment each other perfectly. When I get that more worked out, I'll get you the link for it. :)
